Feeding guide for yellow shouldered Amazon parrot

Hi, I’m confused about how many pellets my yellow shouldered Amazon should eat. He is smaller than most Amazon’s and I made the mistake of giving him way too many pellets which has led to him having a fatty liver. I’ve cut him right back but still I am just not sure how many is too many for a bird of his size.

Pellets are intended to be freely fed. A parrot is not likely to over eat if his nutritional needs are met. I would discuss other possible causes with your vet, including other foods you were offering. Pellets alone should not cause fatty liver.
