Female Budgerigars

Two of my female budgies mated together and laid eggs. Will these eggs be infertile or should I keep and try to incubate them ?

Answer:

Hi,

If both birds are female, the eggs can’t be fertile. Bird do not have to mate to lay eggs. Single birds lay eggs all the time. Some same sex birds do exhibit mating behavior, but unless you saw them, they most likely just laid eggs.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
