Female cocktail is older and not showing interest in young male

Hi my cocktail female is more than 3 years and male is approx 2years of age but female is not showing in mating they are together with approx 6 months

Answer:

Hi,

Cockatiels should be at least 2 years old before you put them together for breeding. Your male is only just old enough, and this is likely why she has ignored him. However, not all birds are compatible as breeders. All you can do is wait at least 6 more months to see if they end up bonding. If they don’t, then you may not be able to breed this pair.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
