Female tiel behaviour

Is it normal for a female cockatiel to sing and dance ? Or is it just mine? My male tends to talk lesser than my female. What does this mean? Please help! Thanks!!

Answer:

Hi again,

Individual birds have different personalities regardless of their gender. While most female cockatiels are not very vocal, some can be quite vocal. And some males can be on the quiet side. Of course it is possible that you are wrong about their sexes unless the “female” has laid eggs. Some cockatiels can be visually sexed but not all mutations can, and there can be exceptions with those rules, also. If neither bird has laid eggs and it matters which sex they are, I would suggest DNA testing to be sure.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
