finch zebra

how many birds can you put together

Answer:

Hi Jeries,

It depends on the size of the cage and whether you plan to breed them. If you want them to breed, then you should only have one pair per cage unless you have a large walk in type aviary. For pets, several can share a cage if the cage is large enough, but you never want to give them nests or they will start fighting with each other. Also, do not keep an odd number of birds in a cage or one bird will end up alone and picked on. Even if the birds are all male or all female, they will generally pair off and often exhibit some breeding behavior.
