Hi Patrick,
The parents will teach them to eat while also feeding them at times. It’s very important to remove the nest if the chicks have left it. Otherwise the parents will start another clutch and often let the chicks starve rather than taking time to wean them. The chicks will typically wean in a couple of weeks. Once you are sure they are weaned, then you need to separate them from the parents.
