Flying problems

Hi again, I also have another bird who can fly, but sort of crash lands on the ground. He used to fly really well. But now I can’t take him far away from his cage. I’m afraid he will injure himself.

Answer:

Hi Lakshmi,

As I said in my last reply, this is a sign of an illness or some type of injury. The best thing to do is to take him to an avian vet to be checked out. It’s not normal for a bird to lose the ability to fly unless the wings were trimmed, there is an illness or internal issue or some type of injury. An extremely old bird can have arthritis and joint issues, so this is another possible cause. A Vet is needed to help with any of these problems.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
