fresh vs wilted

it seems that my budgies prefer their vegetable wilted over the fresh that they get mostly the spinach and lettuce that they get . They get fresh every day and they let it sit until it gets wilted then they eat it. unlike the fresh carrot slices which get eaten in record time.
