Functional sick female budgie

My female budgie is around 5 years old, and recently it hasnt even been possible to get her out of her cage. I think its some kind of cage aggression, but its too much. We dont punish her for this. She has always been a little bitey, though it was never an actual problem. First, she grew up with her brother until around the end of 2023, and now quickly after she got a new male companion. After bonding with him, she stopped flying. Her brother died from not being able to handle a tumour (which suspected is one of those common fat lumps but we were at the vet and there was no liquid in it). I think she has gotten the same as him, but it hasnt grown too big for comfort. Im sorry if this isnt understandable but i think shes getting sick and its worrying. she doesnt show any symptoms except that she doesnt fly anymore and shes aggressive. her new male is also her mate, and he’s actively outside, and its sad when its clear hes trying to get her to join him, but she wont budge. I just really hope she isnt suffering and i dont know if im supposed to let her go?

Answer:

Hi,

A Veterinarian can do an exam and run tests to determine what is going on with her. There are things that can be done if you don’t wait too long. A pet bird should always be taken to an Avian Vet at the first sign of illness.
