Galah Cockatoo

I have 6 month old Galah.
what kind of food should i give her?

Thanks,

Answer:

Hi!

Congratulations on your baby! The best diet is a nutritionally balanced diet like pellets or our foraging diets as 80% of the daily diet. Loose seed should not be offered as it offers little in nutritional value, and any added vitamins are lost when the bird removes the hull. Our Nutri-Berries, Avi-Cakes and Pellet-Berries are made with fresh, hulled, human grade seeds and other ingredients, all coated in a nutritionally balanced binder so that your bird gets complete nutrition with each bite, just like a pellet. The difference is they offer natural foraging exercise and the variety of tastes and textures that a parrot craves. They can be fed alone or combined with pellets. You should also offer fresh greens, veggies, fruits and healthy table foods as 20% of the daily diet. I’ll give you the link to our food guide and a recent webinar we offered on cockatoos as pets. We offer free webinars on Fridays and all past webinars can be viewed on our youtube channel. You can learn more about nutrition, health, behavior and all aspects of pet bird care.
