Green Cheek or Maroon belly

How can you tell the difference between green cheek conures and maroon bellied conures?

The best way to describe the differences is the Green Cheeks are overall brighter in color than the Maroon Belly. The colors are mostly the same, but the Maroon Belly colors are more muted. To the untrained eye, the differences may not be obvious. The Green Cheek conures are generally much better pets – they are more outgoing and friendlier while the maroon bellies can be a bit shy. Both breed well in captivity, but most breeders choose to breed the Green Cheek these days due to the better pet qualities. They are available in several color mutations.
