How many egg does green ring neck lay in one year
Hi,
In the wild, they only lay eggs once a year during breeding season – 4-6 eggs. In captivity they will continue to lay eggs until they die if you do not make changes to stop her. If this is a pair, the nest box needs to be removed after each clutch, and the pair rested for 6 months. So you should only let them lay eggs twice a year with a break in between. If this is a single hen, then you need to make changes to stop her from laying eggs – do not give her a nest, move the cage & rearrange her toys, limit her light to less than 10 hours a day by covering her cage early in the evening. If a hen will not stop laying eggs, you need to take her to an Avian Vet for hormone treatments.
Thank you for asking Lafeber,
