Hi Terry,
Desensitization is the process of getting your parrot comfortable with being around different objects or things. It would depend on what you are trying to desensitize the bird to. If it was something smaller it would be something as easy as playing with it yourself at a safe distance and slowly moving the object closer, minding the birds body language at all times not to spook or startle. Larger items, like new furniture or such, you may need to start with the bird far away and slowly walk, little steps, over towards the object watching the birds body language and retreating a step when the body language is showing you the bird is not comfortable with the situation. New items that may be perceived as scary and should be introduced slowly. Greys are cautious by nature. Survival of the individual depends on it.
