I bought a pair of gray jaco parrots 2 months ago, they gave offspring before
I can’t get eggs right now, the male is feeding the female, they are courting each other, but they are not mating. What should I do to get offspring?

Answer:

Hi,

You have only had them for 2 months, so they need more time to get settled in. Give them a good diet, and plenty of privacy. They should only be allowed to breed once a year anyway, so it may be too soon for them to breed again. There is nothing you can do to make them breed, and once a breeding pair is moved, they can take a while to breed again. It is not very common for anyone to sell a pair that will already produce offspring. I am sorry to say this, but it is also possible that the person was not telling the truth about them having offspring already. Most people will not sell a good pair unless they have no other options. It would also be a good idea to have them checked by a Vet if you have not done this yet. I hope they do settle in with you and give you some chicks.
