I’m getting my bird as a baby and I want to train it to know me and who my family is. I also want to teach him tricks. How would I go about that? Also, I plan to be very interactive with my bird so how long will he take to get used to me?
Hi Sam,
It is very important to get a hand fed lovebird that is already tame. You need to be able to handle it at the breeders or the store. Young lovebirds that are not hand fed can be very hard to tame. I would not buy a lovebird unless they can prove it is tame and let you hold it. I’ll give you some links to read about taming, training and diet which will help you get ready for your new bird.
