How to stop screaming

Any good ideas to stop screaming?

Answer:

Hi Ron,

Parrots vocalize in order to communicate. When you parrot screams too much it may be due to hormones or the bird simply wants your attention. Unwanted behaviors are best ignored. Give him time to stop and when he is quiet, go to him and give him a treat and talk to him. Screaming back, covering the cage, or other punishments are not understood by parrots. In fact he will likely be delighted to have a screaming contest with you!
