Hurting a bird

Budgie mom attack their 2 month chick how to stop??

Answer:

Hi,

You have to move the chicks to a separate cage as soon as they are eating on their own. Once the chicks are weaned, the parents will start to chase and attack them in an attempt to make them go away. This is nature’s way of preventing related birds from breeding. At 8 weeks, the bird should be eating on its own. You need to remove it right away or the female may end up killing it. Grown chicks can’t be kept with the parents. Even if they allowed it to stay, they will end up trying to breed with it when it is old enough, and you should never let related bird breed.
