I have a weak male cockatiel

I have a weak male cockatiel and I only give him grains in food. He does not want to eat fruits or vegetables. What can I do to keep him healthy?

Answer:

Hi,

Any bird can be converted to a pelleted diet. Owners give up too soon. When you say your bird will only eat seeds, that means you are letting him only eat seeds. We do have diets that are formulated the same as pellets, but the ingredients are not ground up. Cockatiels love our Nutri-Berries and Avi-cakes and readily accept them. If our diets are not available where you are, you can consult with your Avian Vet for help with converting your bird to a diet that will keep him healthy.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
