I know parrots can tolerate a range, but how cold is too cold?

We have an African grey we’re about to move across the country with which means lots of changes. The one we’re currently most lost in how to address is the interior temperature change. Previously she’s spent her day/nights at around 72-74° f. In the new location the normal interior temperature for the house in the winter is 65-70 f during the day, and 62-68 at night. Is the bottom of this range likely to be problematic for her, or is there anything we can do to help her adjust more effectively to the change?

Answer:

Hi,

You can begin by covering part of the cage until she has adjusted, But those temperatures are well within the range of comfortable temperatures for a healthy pet bird. They don’t do well with a draft, so make sure the cage is not too close to a window or door where there might be a draft.
