I need help

So my cockatiels are laying eggs but keep laying them outside the nesting box I need help asap

Answer:

Hi David,

The birds may not be comfortable with the nest box for some reason. It needs to be a box designed for cockatiels – if it is too small or too large they may not use it. It should be affixed to the outside of the cage as high up as possible. You can place some aspen shavings in the box although it is likely they will kick those out as cockatiels are notorious for not using nesting material. Try placing the eggs in the nest box and hopefully they will figure out this is what it is for. You can’t force them to use it but generally they will get the point and start laying the eggs in the box.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
