Indian ring neck

I was given a Indian ring neck that was born on the 15 of Jan 1994 so could you please tell how old she is in human years as well as bird life . Thank you

Answer:

Hi,

There isn’t a formula for this. Even the one for dogs and cats isn’t accurate because the pet years to human years changes as the animal ages. With pet birds, there are projected life spans, with larger parrots living much longer than small birds. Indian ringnecks have been known to live up to 40 years, but some live as few as 15-20. There are really too many factors to have an accurate lifespan. Your bird is considered a senior bird at her age, but she can still live many more years. Keep her on a healthy diet, with lots of attention and regular vet care and she could be with you for quite some time.
