Can cigarette smoke cause sudden death of love birds?

Hi,

I’m sorry about your loss. Any type of smoke is harmful to birds, but cigarette smoke is not likely to cause sudden death unless it was very heavy and the room had no ventilation. Regardless, birds should never be exposed to cigarette smoke, any other type of smoke, or any strong fumes or scents. An airborne toxin is probably the most common cause of sudden death in birds.
