LVP safe cleaners

I have new LVP floors and am not supposed to use dilute vinegar or dilute simple green. It’s supposed to be oh neutral. Can you make a suggestion

Answer:

Thanks for reaching out to Ask Lafeber. For your new LVP floors—and especially with a parrot in the home—it’s best to stick with a gentle, pH‑neutral cleaner that’s safe for vinyl and non-toxic for birds. You can use a commercially available option such as Bona Hard-Surface Floor Cleaner, Zep Neutral pH Floor Cleaner, or Rejuvenate Luxury Vinyl Floor Cleaner—all designed to clean without damaging the plank finish. Alternatively, a simple homemade option is warm water with just a few drops of mild, unscented dish soap (free from ammonia, bleach, or strong fragrances). Apply with a damp microfiber mop rather than soaking the floor, and rinse lightly with clean water if needed. This keeps your floors looking great while protecting your parrot from harmful fumes or residues.
