Mating Finches

My zebra finches seem to be trying to mate but the female finch is crying/ screeching a lot while the male is chattering his beak a lot . is this bad/ should i separate them?

Hi Jade,

It can be courting behavior or she may not be ready to breed yet. As long as they are not fighting to the point of feathers flying and blood being drawn, then there is nothing to worry about.
