My budgie can only fly about 3

He’s been like it since I’ve had him. he get’s around fine and is healthy and happy, but I just feel bad for the lil dude. I should’ve taken him to the vet after the first few months I had him, but it was in the middle of lockdown.
Is there any hope for him to ever fly like a normal bird?

Answer:

Hi Karl,

If he can’t fly and you haven’t clipped his wings, then it sounds like he either has a feather issue or possibly suffered an injury at some point that was never treated. You would need a Vet to determine if there is a physical reason why he doesn’t fly. There are some diseases that can cause the feathers to not grow back properly.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
