My 4/5 year old budgie suddenly can’t fly. He is holding one of his wings oddly like it’s hurt. He has also just gone through a big molt and has been very tired lately. I’m worried about him and haven’t observed any falls or crashes lately, so I do not know what the problem could be.
Thank you for reaching out to Asl Lafeber. I suggest taking this bird to an avian veterinarian right away! Since we cannot observe our birds all day, something could have happened to cause an injury, and this bird could have broken his wing or severely injured it. Either way there’s a good bet it’s in a great deal of pain. Unlike years ago, we now have access to anti-inflammatory meds that will help this little guy with pain management.
