My budgie can’t fly

My 1 year old budgie is struggling to fly , he is constantly stretching and shivering his wings and whenever he wants to fly he flies to the floor which he never does I’m worried and I don’t know what to do , I did some research and it says that ” your budgie might not be able to fly because they are molting and have lost their flight feathers and your budgie has no energy because they are molting” so I checked inside the cage for any flight feathers and I couldn’t find any , so does my budgie have no energy ???? Please can someone tell me why is this happening to my budgie .

Answer:

Hi Aylin,

If this was a sudden change, then he may be sick. When a bird gets sick, they can go downhill quickly so it is important to go ahead and take him to an Avian Vet. From your description, it sounds like he isn’t feeling well or possibly got injured somehow. I would try to get him in to see a Vet today and not wait since it is the weekend.

Take care,

Brenda
