My Budgie is Struggling to Fly

My budgie about 8 to 9 months, as of recently as been struggling to fly. This started two days ago when I let my two budgie out but as they took their first flight I noticed that my smaller blue one named Baby crash landed. I picked her up and put her where my other had perched so they could stay together. I didn’t think much of it only it happened again yesterday, and today. Today she made it about half way up the my fan (Which is completely dead and perfectly harmless) and then it almost looked like she was being dragged down by her weight and crash landed on my other cage which i keep for backup purposes on a high self. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to care for her and what’s wrong, as of the moment i am unable to take her to an avian specialist (next 1 to 2 days) so please let me know of why to care for her or treat her!

Answer:

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no way for me to know what might be going on from your description. She possibly injured herself on that first flight, or there is another issue. You need to take her to an Avian vet to determine what the problem is. I wish I could be of more help.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
