My Cockatiels Hactched

What I give to a mother cockatiel to feed them?

Answer:

Hi,

You should have been feeding the parents special foods as soon as you set them up for breeding. You should be feeding them a nutritionally balanced diet such as pellets – a seed mix does not provide the nutrition they need. You should also be offering leafy greens, veggies, some fruit and cooked eggs, with the shell washed, crushed and cooked with the eggs. The parents will feed the chicks what they are eating. If you are only feeding seeds, you need to start offering the foods I mentioned. If they only feed seeds to the chicks, the crops can get impacted.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
