My finch is sitting in his food bowl
Hey I got some new finches they have laid 2 eggs but the mail is now sitting on the food bowl

Are you sure that the bird is a male? You may have two females and the one in the dish is also going to lay eggs. Does the female with eggs have a nest? Does the male pay any attention to her or try to feed her while she is in the nest? Possibly this pair is not bonded which means the eggs probably are not fertile. All you can do is wait and see if they hatch and if the male pitches in and helps. You can try getting a couple of smaller food bowls instead of the one the male is sitting in. If these eggs do not hatch, you need to take the nest away and do not give it back until the birds show signs of being bonded and mating. Not all pairs will bond, and you don’t want the female to keep laying infertile eggs as this is very hard on her health.
