neosporin ointment safe for cockatiels?

My cockatiel hurt his wing and some blood feathers came out. Whenever he cleans himself, he screams and it’s obvious that it hurts him. Can I add neosporin ointment?

Answer:

Hi,

No, this is not recommended. The best thing to do is take him to an Avian Vet for treatment. He may still have part of the broken feathers in the skin and these need to be removed.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
