Nesting isdue

My finches are sitting outer side of nest rather than inside of the nest.
What should be the reasons ?

Answer:

Hi,

If they are not mating and laying eggs, then they don’t need a nest. They may not be in breeding condition right now. If they have eggs they are ignoring, this can be due to inexperience. They may not like where the nest is. The nest should be hung as high as possible, with just enough room for them to sit on top of the nest. They also need a lot of privacy. The cage should be in a quiet area where people aren’t going by them all the time. If they do not feel safe, they will not breed.
