Should you cover parakeets when you first bring them home

Hi,

You do not want to cover the entire cage or they won’t eat. The best thing to do is place the cage where there is a wall behind them, and not right by a doorway. Birds do better if they can see people as they enter a room, rather than have someone enter from behind or right next to their cage. You can cover one or two sides of the cage with a light cover, if they seem really nervous at first. And some birds like their cage covered at night.
