New carpeting upstairs

Hi Im asking a question for my bird verde it’s be a while since I’ve asked on this site. So we just got carpeting today on the upstairs level where verde stays with me in my room and of course we had to mover her downstairs in the office so the smell won’t bother her respiratory system. They finished the top level but they still have to do the stairs, the smell is very strong even for me and I know I cannot bring her back upstairs today but I was wondering when could I quite possible bring her back upstairs. I’ve gotten quite acclimated to verde staying with me upstairs in my room especially when I sleep because I get scared at night and knowing that she’s there in the cage gives me much needed support and comfort but I want her to be safe so I ask you guys to make sure I can get her back with me upstairs but not rush it so I don’t get her sick or worse she dies because of my impatience

Thanks you for your Time ?

Answer:

Hi Morgan,

It’s always nice to hear from you and Verde! You definitely need to make sure all odors are gone before taking her back upstairs. If possible, open windows to air the house out. I would not bring her back upstairs until several days to a week after you no longer smell the new carpet. As you know they are much more sensitive, so it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’m sorry y’all have to be separated at night right now.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
