not laying egg

my cocktail is nota laying egg

Hi Ragul,

There can be many reasons for this such as the bird is too young, infertile, sick or simply isn’t bonded to the mate or content with the environment. All you can do is provide what they need and hope they breed and lay eggs. They need a nutritionally balanced diet – not loose seeds – also chopped veggies, dark leafy greens, cooked eggs and multi grain bread. They need a large cage and a cockatiel nest box affixed to the outside of the cage, as high as possible. They also need a lot of privacy. Not all birds make good breeders, so all you can do is wait and see if they bond and mate. If she still doesn’t lay eggs, then there could be a health issue.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
