Not laying eggs after mating also and 5 budgies in one cage


I brought them in october they started to mate but female not laying eggs and i kept pot in cage which have v shape curve.please suggest.


Answer:

Hi,

You can’t breed birds if you have 5 in one cage. The only exception would be if you have a huge aviary that is large enough for you to walk into and for the birds to fly and establish their own territory. Otherwise you need to put the pair you want to breed in their own cage and provide them with a wood nest box that is designed for parakeets/budgies. They need to be away from the other birds or they will not feel comfortable enough to lay eggs. Breeding birds need privacy without contact with other birds and very little contact with people.
