How do I tailor diets by species?
Do senior birds need special nutrition?

We are still learning a lot about nutrition and while there are a few species specific diets out there, the science and research has not been done. So generally the diets are intended for all species across the board There are some species that are known to have issues that are probably related to diet. In this case, there are different theories and recommendations for these species. But again, there have not been the species specific studies needed to confirm or identify special diet needs.

We do manufacture a senior bird diet. It can be fed at any age, but has added nutrients that are particularly beneficial to senior birds. Here is some additional information on our Senior Bird Nutri-Berries.
