Will the female budgie sit only on one egg till it’s hatched?

Hi,

It depends on the bird, but yes, a pair will incubate and hatch a single egg. Usually they lay 4-6 eggs, every other day, so when a female only lays one egg, this isn’t normal. There may not be anything wrong, but it can be a sign of over breeding, being too young, or being too old, or inadequate nutrition.
