Pairs

Hi, I’m getting a pair of cockatiels for the same egg clutch, I think they are a male and female or two females what’s the most important thing/way to keep them from laying eggs in the future?

Answer:

Hi,

A female can lay eggs with or without a male around. If they are male & female, then you should discard any eggs and never give them a nest box. If these are to be pets, then you should not cage them together. When birds share a cage they end up bonding and lose interest in people. Each bird needs it’s own cage and you can let them interact when you interact with them.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
