Hi Riah,
It can take a while for a bird to accept a new food. Keep offering the veggies and fruits – although he is more likely to eat the veggies. Parakeets love broccoli florets, dark leafy greens, finely chopped carrots, sweet potatoes, and other veggies. A seed mix is not going to provide adequate nutrition. You need to be feeding a nutritionally balanced diet. Pellets are an option, but parakeets love whole seeds. Our foraging diets are nutritionally complete like a pellet, but contain whole ingredients that are more natural for a parakeet. Please review the feeding guide I will post below. Leave the mineral block and cuttlebone in the cage – he will use it when he needs it – they do not use these often other than females when they are laying eggs. As far as bathing, parakeets do not bathe a lot. They will preen their feathers and stay clean that way.
