Hi Lexter,
If you plan to hand feed the chicks, they usually wean by 8 weeks old. With parakeets, it works well to co-parent the chicks. Let the parents feed them, but start taking one chick out at a time to handle for a few minutes, a few times a day, after their eyes open. This only works if the parents will tolerate it. Otherwise, if you remove the chicks as soon as they are weaned, they will tame pretty quickly.
