Polyoma vaccine

Under what circumstances should a parrot be vaccinated for polyoma

Answer:

Hi Frank,

This is something that bird owners should discuss with their Vet. In general, Polyoma affects young birds. If you have a multiple bird household and may add more birds, if you breed birds, or if you board your bird at a facility with other birds, you should consider this vaccine. If you have several birds, but all have tested negative and you have no plans to get another bird, you probably don’t need to worry about having them vaccinated.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
