Question of which ex and mate

So I have had my yellow naped parrot for 34 years now and I don’t know the sex and is it to late to give him a mate

Answer:

Hi Robert,

The sex can be determined by a blood test or test on his feathers.  There are DNA sexing kits you can order and send yourself or you can ask your Vet. If he is a pet, I would not get him a mate. If you do, he will become aggressive and you will not be able to handle him. He really does not need a mate unless you want to try to breed them. Amazons are one of the hardest birds to breed, so unless you are very serious, I would leave things as they are.

Thank you for asking Lafeber.
