Scented candles, plug ins

A supplemental question to the plug ins: are the ones like feliway that are supposed to make cats calmer dangerous as well?

Parrots have such a complicated respiratory system which involves their lungs, air sacs and some bones. This makes them more vulnerable to any scents and fumes that might be perfectly fine for humans and other pets. I would not use any scented candles. You can ask the manufacturer, but I would be surprised if they would commit to the candle being safe. As Dr. Tully discussed, some scents seem to affect some birds and not others.
