Here is Dr. Lamb’s response:

Variety to seeds is important and also getting a little bit more in the diet than just seeds is needed. We need to make sure they are getting appropriate amino acids like lysine and methionine which can be deficient in seeds some times and contribute to fatty liver syndrome. So having them on a diet that ensures they get these amino acids is needed to do your best at preventing liver disease.
