should I get my bird a friend?

So I have one conure and he is mostly friendly.I was thinking of getting another friendly bird to keep my conure company while I am at work.Would my bird learn and copy the friendly behavior? Or will it stop being friendly all together?

Answer:

Hi,

Birds do tend to enjoy having another bird in the house. If you get another bird, it should have its own cage and it should be as a pet for you, not as a friend for your bird. Your bird may or may not care about having another bird around.  If you put a new bird in the same cage as your bird, and they bond, you will lose your bird as a pet. Another bird may or may not have any effect on your bird’s behavior.
