Sleeping position

Hello,
I have just bought two lovebirds. Its the second day and i noticed that at night they just hang on the side of theyr cage by the beak. Theyr legs are on the bars too. During the day they seem fine. They eat a lot, drink a lot and overall they look happy. Should I be worried? they are my first pet birds so im really trying to learn everything.

Answer:

Hi Renata,

This is not uncommon – they are scared and need time to settle in. They might do better if you cover their cage at night. Also make sure they have a high perch in the cage as this is where they feel most secure for sleeping.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
