Solo parakeet and vacation

We are going to be gone for 8 days and are taking our 2 dogs with us. We are going on a road trip. Any idea if a parakeet would fare better with us or taken to a sitter. The sitter is my mom but it’d be a new environment with 2 new dogs our bird doesn’t know. I feel 8 days is too long for her to be alone at home but trying to choose the less stressful scenario of the two. Our trip involves road, some camping, some air bnb.

I think the bird would be better off with your mom. It is a change, but it’s one change. She needs to keep the dogs away from the bird, since they could hurt it. But overall, your parakeet should be fine.
