My male talked a lot and in small sentences. Long story short we became seperated for a few years. Now i have them back ( today) i keep talking to them but no responce. Could they have forgotten how to talk ? Did they forget me?

You didn’t mention what species of bird you have? They may just need time to settle in – it has been a while, so they may or may not remember you. Regardless they are in a different home than they are used to so they need time to get comfortable there and to get to know you again. Keep talking to them and be patient and they may start to talk again.
