Too much Vit D? – Dr. Lamb Webinar Sept 16

If birds are living outside all the time or a good part of the day, can they have too high Vit D?

Answer:

Hi Carol,

Here is Dr. Lamb’s response:

Not as long as the vitamin D is not supplemented in the diet. The vitamin D that they make from exposure to the sun is a mechanism they are able to “Turn on and off” as needed. They will only get too much vitamin D if they ingest it.
